Lifting the formal veil separating lay and religious stewardship, the Shrine Family is accepting the challenge of guiding the Shrine of St. Joseph through an era of pressing missionary service and meaningful sacred journeying.

The Shrine is, as our founder Fr. Thomas Augustine Judge ST, declared, a place for the people of God, especially the disenfranchised!  Our 12-person Steering Council, which includes representatives of three worshipping communities, the lay administrative staff, and the priests and brothers serving in sacred mission, is bringing new meaning to lay apostleship.

We are committed to regaining our financial stability in these trying times.  We are committed to continuing our spiritual journey here, welcoming those who wish to join us in our submission to our mission of sacredness and service!

As the Shrine Family, we are both pilgrims and ministers, working with the religious of the Missionary Servants of The Most Holy Trinity, who have embraced our presence on these holy grounds, ministering to our needs, encouraging us to go forth in prayer and supporting new journeyers.  We might be considered Lay Missionary Servants!  Many have taken up such a role during the forty years, since the doors of the Shrine were opened to them; others have followed similarly, creating traditional communities in both English and Spanish.  Together, the communities, grateful their spiritual journey led them to these holy grounds which have nurtured their individual and communal spirituality with love and respect, are prepared to take up this  important stewardship.
