The Shrine of St. Joseph is staffed by the Missionary Servants of the Most Holy Trinity, a religious community of priests and brothers. Founded in the U.S.A., we serve the poor and the abandoned in North and South America. Our founder, Fr. Thomas A. Judge (above) believed that every Catholic should be an apostle. As a sign of his devotion to St. Joseph he purchased the property on which the Shrine stands, in l924.

WHERE WE ARE --

We are located in the Watchung Mountains of New Jersey, near Summit and Morristown, easily accessible from Routes 287, 78, 80 and the Garden State Parkway.

OTHER  SITES  OF  INTEREST:

TOWER OF REMEMBRANCE --

Be sure to spend a few minutes in meditation and prayer at the Tower of Remembrance. Constructed of steel salvaged from the ruins of the World Trade Center, the tower rises 35 ft. above the garden setting, and the bells toll 46 minutes after every hour from 8:46 a.m. to 8:46 p.m., commemorating those who died in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. The names of the victims are inscribed on brass plaques mounted on the Jerusalem stone walls. The bells were brought from the former Missionary Servants seminary in Monroe, Virginia.

ORIGINAL SHRINE OF ST. JOSEPH -- Carefully and lovingly restored by a member of the Shrine family, the original shrine is a favorite stop for visitors.

SHRINE TO OUR LADY OF FATIMA – Another sacred landmark.

"TURNING FROM VIOLENCE" –

A meditative icon, located in the rear of the Chapel reminds us of the many facets of violence plaguing the world we live in – political, racial, religious, sexual, economic – both mental and physical.

VISITORS ARE ALWAYS WELCOME AT THE SHRINE OF ST. JOSEPH --

"On behalf of the Missionary Servants of the Most Holy Trinity, I invite you to visit the Shrine at any time -- pray in the solitude of our Chapel, at the Tower of Remembrance, or at any of our other sacred sites. Or, if you wish, stroll around the grounds -- savor the natural beauty of God’s creation – experience His presence.”

Fr. Peter Krebs, S.T.
Director
Shrine of St. Joseph
