The Blessed Trinity Missionary Institute is a secular institute. They are just one branch of the apostolic family, who have been called fay God to be missionaries in the church. BTMI was instituted because some people preferred to live as seculars maintaining their professional jobs. They are one of four branches. The other three branches are: The Missionary Servants of the Most Blessed Trinity, The Missionary Servants of the Holy Trinity, and The Missionary Cenacle Aposolate. Together they comprise the Missionary Cenacle Family. The BTMI received its decree of approval from the Archbishop of New York on January 20th, 1964. Dr. Margaret Healy saw BTMI as what Fr. Judge had in mind for lay involvement. Members dedicate their lives to the Most Blessed Trinity through professions of the private vows of poverty, chastity and obedience. Each member follows a daily rule of life which includes Mass, Communion, vocal and mental prayer, and spiritual reading. Provision is made for two weekend retreats annually, meetings and instructions also provide personal spiritual direction for members. Meetings are held in their office at Saint Josephs Shrine.Members engage in missionary activities that the church needs, which are necessary and have a note of abandonment about them. Their vows are professed annually for the first five years, then for life.
